good place to go to Vienna but horrible place to go to Budapest. Besides that the owner of the gas station hates hichhikers, he called the police on me and almost got me in serious trouble cause I didn’t speak the language.

Worst place to ask for a ride to Budapest, a lot of people going to Vienna. Besides that the owner of the gas station is completely against hitchhiking, he tried to kick us by calling the police and we almost got into serious trouble. Avoid this gas station, only seems a good option if you’re going to Vienna but still I believe tha there are better places

Verrandi, May 2023
Not easy to get there, but then quick, in few minutes when we were sitting there and having snack someone came and ask if we want to take and took us straight to Budapest.

Most of cars are going to wien. It is hard toget aride to budapest direction. 3 hours of waiting.

Az-alcmar, June 2016
from bratislava centrum to Petrzalka on bus. cross a field and fence.. (10 min walk) but the best place to Gyer or Budapest

―Anonymous, March 2016
it is a great spot, only problem is to get there. you have to walk for about 2 km by foot from Petrzalka. but, once you get there, you are the winner, you get a car immediately :)

Tintalinta, August 2015
The spot is a good option when going to Wien/Graz/Milan. Here you get the maimum o relevant cars.

very good spot to go further to Austria and Italy.

Pjpj, August 2014
There is really a bringe if you want to we on the other side of the highway. Gillikin's instruction is pretty ok (i lost myself but finally found a good way). I dont know what is main destinaion for car drivers, i got a ride with truckman. There is a lots of tracks from all europe and they are going to germany, but also itally etc. If you will be really fucked up you can ask a driver at the petrol station if they can pick you up at least 10km in direction budapest or go by foot- for 10km is rajka- is a station where every truck have to stop to buy vinniete.

Almost everyone is going to Vienna here, at least that is what their hand signs told me. You might as well start asking truck drivers straight away if you want to go to Budapest (like me). Took me just under 2 hours hitching with a sign to find a ride to Budapest, Vienna would have been easier I guess.

Lopotour, March 2014
We were hitching to Budapest. Cars did not stopped but we asked truck drivers and after an hour a Romanian driver took us directly to Budapest outskirts. Most of the cars were heading to Vienna.

Jakubkollar, March 2014
If it´s rainy, your shoes will get dirty because of the mudd in the way to the petrol station. Take with you something to clean them, noone wants a hitchiker full of mudd in his car xD

Alcanlo, November 2013
Got a ride to Maribor in 30 mins. However two guys had been waiting for their ride to Budapest for two hours already when I came. This was maybe week before the end of holiday (august).

Tomocici, September 2013
I disagree with the description. I got a ride to Serbia through Hungary in 20 seconds and there were a lot of hungarian cars around.

Monnichqueh, July 2013
Most of the cars go to vienna not to budapest, but finally we got a car which brought us directly to the adress in Budapest. We gut to the gas station by taxi because it is really hard to get there.

VerK, July 2013
I dont think it is hard to get it. Get off the bus 93 at bus stop Luky V. Cross the field and go towards the railway, when railway goes away from highway continue towards the highway. About 50m before the petrol station, it is possible to come through the fence and you must cross the highway and you are here. We were waiting here about 20min to Wien.

Ada.pernik, July 2013
The best way after getting off Bus 93 (in case the wheat is high in the field): Walk in the direction the bus was heading. Go towards the field next to the road where you’ll see a path towards the bridge in front of you. Go under the bridge and up a small hill on the left, then straight and down the other side of the hill. Follow the road that goes straight then curves to the right until you come to a road on the right that has a stop sign and goes over railroad tracks. Follow this and on the other side of the bridge, turn and go down the left side (pick up a stick to make some noise and hit the grass with because there might be snakes). There will be stairs in a few feet that lead down to the highway. From here, walk the short distance to the service station. The walk should take about thirty minutes total.

Gillikin, July 2013
It's quite good petrol station for leaving from Bratislava. But the only proble is that it is really difficult to reach there. One way, take bus 93 and go
Lúky V. It so close to highway D2 (E75,E65, E58). walk close to highway and you will see the petrol station. There is one crossing point in order to cross fences behind of the Petrol station. Even you can walk on railway. You must definately check your route on google map before you go there. Because when you reach there you will see how is complicaed. Good luck!

Kralx15, September 2012
I think, this is the only place to get a ride to Wiena or Budapest. There is a lot of locals on this place :-/
It took me 45 minutes to get a ride in direction of Budapest.

―Anonymous, May 2012
Cars diden't stopped. But ask Truck Drivers. The Only Problem with this place is to really long and hard to get there from the center of Bratislava.

―Anonymous, February 2012
A great spot if you are going to vienna. If you are planning to go to hungary its better if you hitchhike to vienna first and from there to hungary. Its also not easy to get to this station, a long walk.
