Mosoni pihenőhely

lots and lots of traffic, though took longer than expected. walked around the gas station and asked around, but wasn’t great, so stood by the exit with a sign. took a bit of time, but eventually found a ride straight to graz.

I was waiting at exit for 2h20min on Friday afternoon in August, direction to CZ. Tried with sign and also without. Two cars stops, both to Germany. Finally, I took drive to Brno. A lot of full cars with families...

Last gas station before Vienna/Bratislava junction. Got a ride to Bratislava in 10 mins!

Absolutely possible to get a ride not just to Wien, but also towards Bratislava or Brno! :)

I hithchiked here on a way from Budapest to Breclav,CZ.
There was a huge amount of cars going from Romania to Austria (gastarbeiters). I looked for czech cars. First driver told me they are full and second driver told me he is going to a petrol station in my city (Břeclav is the first czech city behind a border with Slovakia).
I was very lucky. I get in 3 hours from Budapest to Břeclav.

With my boyfriend we hitchhiked from here to Vienna and it was really good, a dutch couple stopped next to us while we were going to the parking lot to start hitchhiking and they asked if we hitchhiked and immediately gave us a lift. They were going to Passau.

Is very easy to get a ride in direction to Austria, but very very hard in direction to slovakia (i didnt ask on the petrol stion) 95% of drivers are going to west and you can be really happy if you will find registration from czech, slovakia, poland. anyway i got 5e from german driver to not give up. good luck everyone.

there are not that many people stopping on this gas station that are going to Bratislava since it's so close but many of them travel through Bratislava to Brno, Prague, etc. got a ride for me to Bratislava and for my friend further to Brno in 5 minutes.

Wed Morning: most people going to or through Vienna, fewer to SK/CZ. Very busy gas station and Parking Lot. After a while of asking, waited with sign: CZ/Prag/ later Brno past at the parking lot. Got a lift to Brno after 1h. Some people go to Germany (South, Passau...). On another occasion in October got a lift to Brno there thumbing behind parking lot much quicker.

Yeah, getting a ride to Austria should be really easy. For Slovakia or Czech republic plan to wait much longer and ask every driver with a Slovak or Czech plate. I got a lift to Bratislava only (where I went to Lamac by bus), but it safed my day (or better: night:).

Last service station before the Austrian border (where you can get lifts as well).

Lifts to Austria are easy to get, Slovakia seemed to be a bit less common.
