I waited 2 hours with a sign for East Croatia, Monday afternoon, late Sept 2012. I got picked up finally by people who took me to the toll at the beginning of the A3 South-Eastwards.―Spiritsxxi, October 2012
Gas station going South towards Zagreb - you'd end up here if trying to get past Zagreb and your lift to that point was going a different direction.
Out of the holiday period, it appears to be very quiet (I was there on a Monday afternoon, late Sept 2012). Not a good place to be at all. You're best off looking for a ride to the road toll gates on the side of the city you want to be on, and then trying to get longer distances from them.
