spent 1hour in the monday evening and nobody seemed to care. slept in the forest across the highway and tuesday morning from 6am till 12:30 stood with big sign Italy/Austria/Ljubljana (Slo) and there were tourists, but all their cars were full. mostly locals and they don't cross border's . I was hopping for a better place. decided to walk back to city and take a bus to Italy .rating: 2/5, wait: 400 min 💬+🪧

Really good spot, big petrol station with McDonalds - a lot of people here. Alse you can get pretty easily here from rijeka with a bus and a little of walking. We got a ride to Pula.

I had hitchiked here two times and both times stopped the first car.

Waited here 30 minutes and car stoped for Buzet (village near border with Slovenia). Many trucks and cars are resting there. A lot of cars are going from here to nerby villages so deffinitely use a sign with direction.

In summer, weekend, many cars goes to Split, ot Zadar. Especially from Italy. It is hard to get a car to Zagreb, but I think still the best place near Rijeka. Also the taxi drivers bring you here for 50-100 kuna, from the nearby villages, or use the bus 32 to get closer.

We stayed here 2 days trying to go to Split and no hope. If you want go this dirrection - you'd better stay after Rijeka. Here most of drivers can drop you to Rijeka and sometimes to Zagreb or that dirrection.

Petrol station where I got stucked for couple of hours heading from Pula to Zagreb. Not a good spot, lot of local traffic and people were not very heplful. When I ended up there second time wanting a ride to south (Split), I decided to go to city center and try it from other spots.
I met two Belgian girls there wanting to get to Split, also decided to change the spot after four hours.
Ask people for a ride to the center of Rijeka.

Can take quite a while for Ljubljana in summer all cars are full. Took us two hours (couple).

motorway gas station. good place for lifts in direction italy/slovenia. took me 30min to find a 500km lift to germany in august.
