If you just approach people at this stop there is a really high chance of being picked up to head north. Basically everyone there (including loads of amazing truckers) who is stopping there will be heading north, at least to Austria. We waited for a bit but as soon as we tried approaching the truckers we got a lift in 2 minutesrating: 5/5, wait: 20 min

Weekday, end of august, 8am. Not very crowded, lots of cars were full, found a lift to Munich in 30min.

Seems worse/less crowded than the one before near Kranj. Still I got a ride in 10min to Stuttgart, but got lucky with that!

There are also plenty o trucks taking the Eisenbahn tunnel to Salzburg and even Klagenfurt. Just ask around.

A good petrol station in direction of Villach, Salzburg, Germnay. Many cars stop here, all of them head at least to Austria. If you try to get after Villach, accept only rides that take the ring around the city!
