Rasthof Dresdner Tor
Very busy spot. We actually got dropped on our way from Berlin on the otherside of the highway. Luckily, it is quite easy to walk here from the other side. You go through field, under bridge and at the beginning on the gas station were unlocked doors, so it was not necessary to go all the way behind the gas station to its exit. We got ride to our final destination of the day - Prague.rating: 5/5, wait: 28 min 🪧, ride: 163 km ↘

Spacious. The petrol station and restaurant are a little further away. I saw more people at the petrol station to ask.

Arrived here and decided to seat by the table, eat something and write my next destination on the cardboard so I called someone and started talking in Polish when some guy asked me if to Gorlitz is just straight so I answered that yes and if he's going maybe he could take me and after a little thinking he said yes. So I guess technically he waited for me to finish eating and we left for the Polish border.

very hard to get to Berlin, many cars going to Poland and Czeck Republic. Also, very little traffic, at least friday evening when I went there.

Good spot to go from Dresden to Poland. I used it twice, in both cases needed to wait approximately 1h, but got ride at least to the border.

My rating is for Prague - Wanted to go to Prague - was surprised by how little traffic there was at 11AM on a thursday. There were maybe 12 cars, maybe a new one every 5min. Became a bit quicker later. I tried for 90 minutes and then called a BlaBlacar.
I could have gone with a czech trucker, but I was worried about the language barrier, and was not desperate enough yet. If I did it again, I'd go for truckers immediately and try to get to the rest stop Varvazov behind the czech border.
More traffic to poland - but so often fully filled cars with either families or lots of stuff.

As of July 2023 there's roadwork going on at the entrance to the gas station making it difficult for drivers to go here. I would strongly discourage going here unless you're trying to catch a ride with a truck of which there are still plenty.

spring 2014; wanted to go from Berlin to Vienna; I waited 2,5 hours but no one to Prague/Czech or Austria. Very good for Poland but not going down south through Czech. Took finally a ride into Dresden to organize myself by bus....

―Anonymous, July 2013
Abundance of Polish cars on friday eve :) Still quite some Czech and Slovakian traffic too, though. I think anyway if you're coming from direction Leipzig and going to Prague this is your best chance.
―Koendev, June 2013
Very bad if you are heading to Prague, we had to wait hours and hours. While if you are heading to Poland you can probably get a ride within minutes
―Phidias81, December 2012
