Raststation Ansfelden Nord
Not so many cars stop at the gas station as expected and if you go further in the direction of a highway there is little room for a car to stop. So better stick to the gas station.rating: 4/5, wait: 70 min 💬+🪧, ride: 101 km ↙

Not many cars, no-one stops or is not seemingly going your way. Had to change spots

Good spot to go to Salzburg. Lots of people and trucks stopping here.
Asking people works better.
Another hitchhiker, however, wasn't lucky, he was on the way to Regensburg and couldn't catch a ride since hours

I was waiting for 5 minutes. The first (and only car) at the gasstation took me nearly to Stuttgart

I got dropped here in the evening, Heading towards A3, Tried talking to drivers but didn't work, Slept in my tent in a vegetated area behind Lidl. Next day tried again without luck. Seemed everybody was either local or going to Salzburg. Eventually I called a friend of a friend living in Linz, He brought me to the local road towards Passau, Hitched multiple short rides until i got to Passau and the A3.

Originally we wanted to go towards Wien but were too lazy to go into the subway and eventually got a lift to Graz by a truckdriver in 15 minutes.

We had to ask people, because nobody would take us to direction A1 Salzburg. Average. maybe not so lucky.

There's a lot of truck drivers here. Just ask around the station. It took us only 20 minutes to find a ride to Passau. The driver asked us for documents to confirm that we are not immigrant... In theory this could happen to you.

Took us quite some time to find someone going toward Passau (coming from Budapest). Lost of traffic going to Salzburg, it seems.
