if u wanna go direction graz, better take the oppotunity to get to the next gasstation(neustadt), cause many people go to eisenstadt, still avery good place, cause its easy to reach from vienna

Took us long to find a ride, mainly because we are three guys. Finally found a ride but it did not take all the way to Graz where when hoped to go.

Wanted to go to venice from here but it didn't work came next day at 4 am with a sign that says I wanted to go to graz so I can go to ljubljana then venice but also didn't work but I only waited about 2 hours before giving up. The place has a forest nearby where you can wild camp for the night so atleast thats a plus.
Getting into vienna is easy getting out is the problem. So I took a flixbus out

I was there on a Saturday monday at 8.30 am looking for a car ride to Graz... Traffic was rare and lots of trucks stopped sleeping. I think it is good to get a ride to Vienna/ West Austria (Linz/Salzburg) Germany/Hungaria/Romania but not to Graz/Italy... If you go south you should get in another petrol station... After 7 hours i quitted the petrol station and went to Wien back...:(

This is the type of petrol station where there is no point to rush to get any sort of ride but just be patient for the right long-range one. From here it's possible to get direct rides to northern Germany, Italy, and maybe also to France or Croatia. I wanted to go to Italy and I found a direct ride in 2h30. Awesome spot! This is definitely one of those spots worth to keep in mind for further reference each time You want to get out of Wien heading south.

I can only pray for you to not end up here! There is only very little traffic passing by and most of them dont get back on the A2. I waited with 5 other hitchhikers, some even longer than i did.

Big gas station, big parking for trucks, restaurant. There is all you need to go to south.
