Got a ride straight to Ghent, BE in about 5 minutes. Got dropped of there by some guys who said they always used this spot when leaving delft.

A busy road, so good for hitchhiking, but most of the traffic will go to Rotterdam and not further so the traffic that is able to give you a hike to for example Dordrecht is sparse.
Also last time I was kicked away by the petrol station owner for asking the tanking people (even though I always smile, wish people a good journey and are dressed pretty neat) but a sign at the parking lot behind the station also worked out OK :)

This gas station is an excellent start when you're hitching from Delft. It is accessible from 'de Rotterdamse weg' walking from the parking lot in the direction of the highway through the park. There is a small wooden bridge across the ditch, just behind the Burger King as seen from the highway.
